Update Error: Customer Mismatch

Keep getting this error when you’re trying to push¬†orders from WooCommerce over to QuickBooks Online?

Cause

An invoice or sales receipt already exists in QuickBooks Online with the same number as your Order# in WooCommerce – but it’s under a different customer in QuickBooks Online that it is in WooCommerce – suggesting that the sales receipt / invoice in QuickBooks Online is a conflict/ different sales receipt / invoice than the order in WooCommerce.

Resolution

You need to ensure that the existing invoice / sales receipt numbers in QuickBooks Online don’t conflict with existing orders in WooCommerce. This can be done in a few different ways:

  • Using the Sequential Orders Pro plugin for WooCommerce to add a prefix to the orders in WooCommerce, so they sync to QuickBooks.
  • Changing your integration settings to sync as either an invoice or a sales receipt – the opposite of the conflicting record in QuickBooks.
  • Renumbering your QuickBooks Online invoices/sales receipts so they are no longer in conflict.
